still recovering from a weekend of less sleep than travel; i'll try to recap ...
from the "in case you are ever desperate/insane enough to consider working retail" department:
during what might have been the busiest retail weekend of the year (back-to-school madness), i somehow managed to refrain from going postal on the hundreds of teenage shoppers slogging through the chaos that is kohl’s junior’s department. imagine scooping armloads of discarded clothes each half hour from the floors of seven fitting rooms. imagine walking by the signs that read “please limit your selections to five items” and “for the convenience of kohl’s customers, please return unwanted garments to the fixture at the entrance of the fitting room” each time in and out. imagine hanging/folding/turning outside out all of the garments that aren’t on hangers. imagine this taking you a half an hour to do every time you manage to get into the fitting rooms when they’re unoccupied! what fun!! seriously. imagine scooping, folding, repeating for, in essence, 6 hours straight. one of these days, i’m going to count each item of clothing i put away on a saturday. and the best part ... imagine having to find where all these clothes in a 4000-sq. foot department where the fixture locations change weekly (which happens to be the frequency with which I work). imagine the feeling of elation when finally escaping said scenario.
FREEDOM!!!
