Yes, here I am

at long last. i've made a list.

first things first. as to why i've been AWOL lately ...

ummm ... i've started writing again. not like, serious, hard core writing but just a little something to get the juices flowing. it's been a completely different experience this time around than any other writing project i've taken on. it's still what i think about most of the day while i'm doing other things, and i can't wait to get home (when i'm ever actually home) and sit down to write. i've come to realize that may be the very thing i love the most about writing -- not the way you can communicate with other people, not the way you can get a message across in so many creative ways, not the catharsis that comes from writing, not the fame & fortune (well, duh, to that one). i simply love the process of writing -- the intent focus and determination, the frustration and anxiety and then the utter relief when you get something on paper (or on disk) that you're not completely disappointed with.

so anyway, this thing i'm working on is by no means a great piece of art, nor is it meant to be. i'm just using it to get the process going again.

the other thing that might be keeping me away from this blog more than i'd like it to is cheerleading. the past three weeks have been like this: work 8-3:15, practice 3:30-5, girls' game 5:30-9. work 8-4:30, jv/varsity boys' away game 4:45-11. work 8-4:30, church 7-8:30. repeat days one and two. work 8-2, varsity boys'away game 4-11:30. sundays are as follows: church at 8:15, church at 10:30, work in office at 11:45, babysit 1:30-5, church 6-7:30, accountability 7:30-9.

and this continues till march ...
