a little something ...

to bump the last post down a bit ...

i went to my old high school's chapel the friday i left for indy. i'd never heard this song before, but i was in tears while we sang it. it's nothing all that profound, but all things in my life considered, it ended up being the highlight of the morning, even over hearing one of my cheerleaders, Krista, sing Rachel's (a girl i counseled at camp a few years ago) song and Matthew's (adopted little brother) words of wisdom from the pulpit.

Come Home Running - Chris Tomlin

Oh heart of mine, why must you stray?
From one so fair you run away
And one more time you have to pay
The heaviness of needless shame

Oh heart of mine, come back home
You've been too long out on your own
And He's been there all along
Watching for you down the road

So come home running
His arms are open wide
His name is Jesus
He understands
He is the answer
You are looking for
So come home running
Just as you are

Oh child of God so dearly loved
And ransomed by the Savior's blood
And called by name, "daughter" and "son"
Wrapped in the robe of righteousness

pearls of wisdom from today:

* Satan cannot truly harm me (God ordains the extent of my suffering)
* the aroma of my worship (life) is much more often a stench than the sweet scent it's meant to be
* spiritual conversations should be the norm, not the exception, because He should be overflowing from me -- i can instigate this
