tales from st. louis

a few highlights from the weekend with some kids from my youth group.

the story is, we (all 26 of us) were walking from the arch to dinner, and we saw this couple getting out of their carriage in front of a church. we started cheering for them, and the groom motioned for us to come over and get a picture. the photographer was nice enough to give us his business card so he could send us a complimentary photo! the couple seemed very happy to be married.

for those of you who didn't pick up on it yet, we were part of an unprecedented event ... the first ever non-Cincinnati-bound honors trip. in lieu of the impending midwestern snowstorm, we headed to st. louis, via springfield (home of abe lincoln), for the weekend. we had a great time sightseeing and hanging out, inbetween two 7-hour bus rides. it really was a great time.

here are some more pics!

yeah, it's a long way up there.

it's root beer, folks.

don't be fooled by the calm dispositions. we were little prepared for the ferris wheel ride from hell that ensued. (100 mph winds at 500 ft = us screaming at the tops of our lungs to be let off, only to have the maniacally cruel ride operators keep us going around a half a dozen times)

rack sparking up a doobie ... made of cardboard ... after trenton had already passed out on the bus from the fumes from an empty bud light bottle we found in the parking lot.

the classic, token julia pic. i tend to take random pics of her, usually on my cell phone. she loves it, really she does.

as always, more pics on my photobucket account.
