the saga isn't quite over yet

with the car. i got it back, it's driveable and probably in much better condition than before. but the service engine light is still on, and i'm supposed to see if it resets. if i take it back in 30 days, i don't have to pay again for the diagnostic. everyone, if you are interested in preserving my sanity, please pray that this light does not plague me much longer.

i took a 15-minute sleepless (akin to restless) nap on the couch tonight out of sheer necessity. then i put elijah to bed and slept for about 20 minutes, i think. can't remember when i felt crappier. i've GOT TO GET SLEEP before this weekend. which basically means tonight and tomorrow. i know we probably won't get to our hotel till like 9 and then we'll have to get up at like 6 to leave at 7 to get there at 8:30 (doors open). and we won't be able to go back to the hotel in the like 6 hours we'll have inbetween sessions. i've taken mini-naps in my car before but this may be a first for some hardcore snoozing.

SOTD. oh my heck, do i love this song, and especially this version. most of you will recognize it from my cd last year! at least it's october now!! traditional lyrics, obviously, but since it's my favorite christmas song of all time ...

O Holy Night/Tracy Chapman (please take a listen! [does that even make sense??])
O holy night the stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear savior's birth

Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till he appeared and the soul felt its worth

A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new glorious morn

Fall on your knees
O hear the angels' voices
O night divine
O night when christ was born
O night divine, o night
O night divine

A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn

Fall on your knees
O hear the angels' voices
O night divine
O night when christ was born
O night divine, o night
O night divine
