hollywood...

love it, hate it... love to hate it. the much maligned entity borne of our own demand often comes under attack for delivering what has been proven people will pay large amounts of money for. hollywood, why do we detest thee so?

in a recent relevant magazine article, the writer references television programs such as "modern family" and movies like "revolutionary road" and "blue valentine," stating that their depiction of marriage casts a negative view on the institution. the subhead reads, "new films make marriage look like a prison. is that really all holy matrimony is?"

funny. i'm pretty sure hollywood knows its job is to make stuff up. take, for example, the brady bunch. is anyone seriously asking hollywood to explain what marriage is supposed to be? i thought its primary function was to give us hourly updates on celebrities' fat index.

i guess i'm just confused.
